Sunway Property announced at its Sunway Velocity Sales Gallery in KL South, that the division will be launching the “Living Sunway, Living Community” campaign to build closer relationships with its communities.

The “Living Sunway, Living Community” campaign will run online as well as on ground and will include many community events. The campaign’s goal is to develop relationships that enrich the lives of Sunway Property’s stakeholders so that they can enjoy the best that Sunway’s integrated developments have to offer, supported by Sunway’s rewards programme, Sunway Pals.

Key launches for 2015 will be Sunway South Quay, Sunway Velocity, and Sunway Damansara in the Klang Valley; Sunway Wellesley in Penang; and Sunway City Ipoh in Perak as well as Sunway Iskandar in Medini, Johor.

Sunway Berhad’s Managing Director of Property Development Division, Malaysia and Singapore, Sarena Cheah, said that besides the launches within its integrated developments, its strategy will be to solidify its property investment offerings to strengthen its positioning as a master community developer. Sunway’s property investments under development currently total RM2.6 billion GDV and include Sunway University’s academic block, Sunway Medical Centre 3, Pyramid Tower West and Sunway Velocity Mall. All the properties will be completed this year except for Sunway Medical Centre 3, which will be completed in early 2017.

“Sunway Property and its communities have both thrived on co-investment partnerships, which is derived from our unique business model of build-own-operate. Because Sunway retains an interest in the townships and integrated developments we build, we are able to assure our investors consisting of both homebuyers and business owners that we will perpetually grow the developments, leading to assured gains in footfall and capital appreciation for all,” she said.

“Therefore, Sunway’s communities, beyond being growing communities, are living communities. Our developments are built to support not only the daily lives of the families within it by offering them the best integration and accessibility, but their future lives as well by growing alongside them,” Sarena Cheah explained.

She cited the new sales last year from Sunway South Quay, Sunway Velocity, and Sunway Iskandar as testament to the strength of Sunway Property’s co-investment strategy in Sunway’s communities.

Sunway Property’s achievements in delivering both gains to the corporation as well as its communities is exemplified best by the success of its flagship township of Sunway City. First conceptualised in 1974, the previous derelict tin-mine has flourished to become an RM11 billion township and is currently the only integrated township in Malaysia with seven key components. The township currently records a footfall of 42 million a year.

Malaysia’s first elevated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) – Sunway Line has began running with free rides from 2 June onwards, for two months, easing travel for 500,000 people in Bandar Sunway and Subang. The adjacent Sunway South Quay development is expected to benefit from the expansions.
